Steve Winton was an accomplished litigator and focused his practice on real estate, business and commercial litigation. Steve was successful in numerous trials, including high stakes matters involving many millions of dollars. He was an excellent strategist in all areas of conflict, ranging from mediation to arbitration and litigation through trial and appeal. Steve had extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Steve also had substantial experience handling real estate and commercial negotiations and transactions.

Steve holds a juris doctor degree from the University of California Berkeley School of Law, where he received the Moot Court Best Brief Award and high honors. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, magna cum laude, from the University of California San Diego. Steve was a Midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy for two years prior to transferring to UCSD.

Steve was selected as one of San Diego’s “Super Lawyers” for seventeen consecutive years in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, a distinction granted each year to only five percent of practicing attorneys in San Diego County.
